Cute Commissioned Quilt for Learning Centre

I received this cute quilt the other day to quilt for a friend of a customer (isn't word of mouth the best advertisement?).

I would say this quilt has been made by a grandmother of one of the children, or someone connected to the learning centre.
The quilt is made up by each pupil's hand being traced, then the line & their name embroidered by running stitch.  There are 4 squares that don't have hands, one is the name of the Learning Centre (middle of bottom row) and the other 3 have Australian Fauna embroidered on them (middle of top row).
If you look closely at the quilting stitch I have used, you will see it is little hands, each with a heart in the palm.... I just thought this quilt called for that stitch.

This quilt is going to be auctioned by a "Silent Auction" when it returns to Sydney.

Hope she likes what I have done.

Until next post...
