Silver Label Spoons & Bibs/Burp Cloths

It is the HUGE Film Festival in Dungog and I just happen to live in Dungog, so my friend who owns the second hand bookshop in the main street of Dungog asked me to have a stall selling my wares tomorrow morning (Saturday) in front of her shop.

So I made more of my spoons and hope to sell them (photo doesn't do them justice):

Plus I have made some New Born bib and burp cloth sets and hope to sell heaps of them too:

They are soooo cute!

Makes you all clucky, doesn't it???

I have decorated some "onesees" as well that match some of the bib sets. (No photos of them).

Hopefully the bad weather holds off, as there is a street parade at 10.30am tomorrow, so lots and lots of people should be around.... Dungog swells with over 6,000 people coming for the film festival and that is over 3 times the population here!

Wish me luck!!!!

Until next post... (off to collect my Mum now!)

Mum's Coming! & Garage Sale Find!

A couple of weeks ago, I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into a "house moving sale" and look what I saw...just perfect for fat quarters, or reels of cotton, or bits and bobs or just about anything for my patchwork!!... and it was mine for a measly $40... next thing was to squeeze it onto the back seat of my little car... and it "just" fit! I have now Mr Sheen ed it and it looks great in the corner!

Now, the other thing is, my Mum is coming THIS Friday to stay for a month...I must whizz around and clean up....looking at my unread magazines piling up:

and my kitchen table is covered with 2 sewing machines and the quilt I am proof reading:

I must get in and tidy it all up.... yes I must.... oh blow it... I'll do it tomorrow night after work.....

Until next post..

Garage Sale Bargain!

I just LOVE garage sales, but I hate getting up so early to go to them.
You see, I live in a small country town that might have a garage sale once in a blue moon, so my boyfriend and I travel 40 mins on a Saturday morning (after he has milked his dairy cows), leaving his place around 6.30am to go to about 8 garage sales that usually start at 7am... we are never the early birds to get the first bargains!

Last Saturday, I bought this framed water colour for $3. I fell in love with it straight away and brought it home and it now is hanging in my bathroom.

Friends are starting to put in orders for items "if we see them"... so far we have filled all orders such as: fire screen, spice rack, tent poles and special books.

Wonder what I will find this Saturday?

Until next post..

Update your Blog Mum!!

Yes, I've been told to update my blog by my daughter... she is sick of logging on to find nothing new has been added... so here 'tis dear daughter!

I have been so busy at work, still trying to see what the top of my desk looks like under all that paperwork... but I have been doing some of my much loved craft lately too.

Firstly, I proof read patchwork patterns for a friend who writes them, and this pattern is so adorable, I thought I would make the quilt while proofing it.... so far I have made all this, but now I am waiting on Australia Post to deliver the rest of the pattern... it seems to have been lost in the mail, which is very frustrating, as I just want to get in and make it... will keep you updated

Next is the jumper I am knitting for my boyfriend, so far the back is done and now I am working my way up the front.

I also have made a couple of "Sunflower Kitchen Sets", I have made the dish cloths, tea towels and the potholders need the binding to be hand sewn down.

Lastly, I have managed to get some more spoon to be made into garden labels. I have flattened them (yes, I even flatten some of them this time) and now they are at work, awaiting the mechanic to have some spare time to print the names into them... was thinking of having "spuds" and even "weeds" on a couple!

Until next post...

A sad time with Dad's passing...

Hi... I have been away in my "home town" for the past 2 weeks, as my Dad passed away on the 19th April.

Dad had a massive stroke 30 years ago when he was 51, but with my Mum's gentle and loving care at home, she kept him going until he was 81 years old. He was admitted to hospital on Sunday and passed away within 24 hours. I have been with my Mum helping her with all those things one has to do after a passing of a loved one.... Mum and Dad just celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversay in March.

Thank you to Toni for putting a message on my previous blog in the comments.

I will "blog" again in a couple of days... still feel like it has been a bad dream.

Until next post..
