Fat Quarter gift

The last of my Birthday fat quarters arrived while I was away doing "Nanna duties".
This one came from Tarnyia
Even thou it was a "fat quarter" swap, Tarnyia was very generous & sent double that, plus a notepad & lollies...THANK YOU!!!!

I came home yesterday with the 2 grand kids and while I was driving home (8 hours driving), my granddaughter asked if they could go horse riding, like they did 2 years ago when they came to spend Easter school holidays with me.

So a phone call last night and here they are horse riding while I sat back & read a book.

Now they are home, they want to go quad bike riding.... well they are passengers behind my hubby & me, as they are way to young to ride on their own.

Tomorrow they are going to see a Billy-Cart Derby, followed by learning card making.

Until next post....

Another Quilt from Peg

I received another Peg Coen quilt in the mail yesterday (when does that lady sleep?).

I had to finish a quilt on the machine before I could get onto Peg's, but today it was all clear sailing with her lovely quilt:

Here it is on the machine:
The following shows the pattern I am stitching.
The red shows what has already been sewn.
The black shows what has to be sewn before I have to wind on the quilt.
The teal shows how many more rows has to be sewn before the quilt is finished.
A close up of the backing after it has been quilted.
All folded and ready to go back to Peg to bind.
Just LOVE working on Peg's quilts!

Peg's Elephant Quilt

When Peg blogged about a quilt she was in the process of making, I fell in love with it and emailed her a few questions about the pattern.
Little did I know she was going to send it to me to quilt for her new grandson, Oscar.

Here it is on my quilting machine:
All quilted, trimmed & edge zigzagged:
Back view shows up the stitching.
 Folded ready to post home.

Table Runners Galore

Mum and I have been sewing table runners.
These are the finished ones so far...
This one is for chook lovers...
These are my favourite... since experiencing a while Christmas about 5 years ago, I just LOVE Snowmen!
these come a close second as I am a Teddy Bear lover....
then there is the Beach themed ones...
These are all going into the "For Sale" box.

A lady brought a quilt to be quilted late this morning, so I must take a break from the Table Runners and get onto the quilt.

Until next post...

I've been cooking

Bruce picked a load of vegetables from our garden, so I thought I had better get in and do some preserving yesterday.
From the left, they are: Curry Ketchup, Yellow Squash Pickles & Zucchini Pickles.

Then I thought I would make a recipe out of a "Slow Cooker" book I received for Christmas..
It was a jam cake in a mug... tastes yummy, but a mug is too much serving for one person,
so next time I will put all the mixture in one bowl and see if it comes out as tasty.

Until next post..
