Lemons, Lemons & More Lemons

The second lemon tree (click here to see what I did with the first lemon tree!) is groaning with the weight of lemons, so I thought I had better get in and do some preserving.

I made one batch of Lemon Cordial
and then I made one batch of Lemon Curd/Butter
and after that I made a small batch of Lemon Hand Scrub (no picture).
I will be trying the scrub to decide if I make a bigger batch.

Even with all this cooking, the lemon tree doesn't look any less loaded!

Christmas Quilt & Cute Washers

I saw this cute pattern called "Little Joys Quilt Along"  on The Jolly Jabber Blog and couldn't resist it.  So, as usual, I cut, ironed, quilted and bound and Mum did all the sewing.
As I don't like waste, I made half square triangles out of the cut off corner pieces, while making the Christmas Trees and decided to enlarge the quilt a bit by added them to it.
The pattern I quilted it with was a cute "Bauble" stitch.
Did you notice this sign above the quilt in the first picture?
It says "A Quilter Lives Here"

As I don't like putting small pieces of fabric away in my stash, I used it up as a panel down the back of the quilt.
Meanwhile, at night time, while the quilting & sewing machines are at rest, I enjoy sleeping knitting in front of the TV.  I just love Down Cloverlaine's Blog (listed on "My Blog List") as she writes WONDERFUL cloth patterns.  She adapts all cloth patterns to baby bib patterns too.
I just LOVE her blog...but I repeat myself.
Here is a Starfish Cloth...
...and here is a Whale cloth.
SO CUTE!
Well, I must get onto quilting a customer's quilt.

Oh No!

My grand daughter got hurt at school, during lunch time today, went to the teacher, crying & telling her it hurt, and the teacher said "it's alright, just tell your Mum after school".... which she did when she was picked up after school... one look at the wrist & my daughter took her straight to hospital...
Yer, one broken wrist later.
She is right handed, plays the saxophone in the school orchestra which performs in the next couple of weeks at a concert, and has to represent the zone in cross country soon... I don't think so!!!

and in those "between" times, I have been sewing tea-towels.

So as I said ... I have been Busy, Busy, Busy!

Quiltarama 2015 in Dungog

Well Dungog Quiltarama 2015 has been and gone for another year and here is my stall all ready to open for trading.
and here and I all ready for the two days.
There were many quilts on display for people's choice
and I was surprise to see my name mentioned on quite a few! (like the one above)
While wondering around the quilts before the show opened I came across a few I really like.
I just loved this Oriental quilt ...
and super impressed with this one..certainly thinking outside the box!
and this one, even thou quite simple, caught my eye.

It was a change of venue this year, held at the High School Hall, where every other year it was held at the RSL Club... the change of venue brought a lot more people to the show.
Also, this year, it was all in one room, (the hall) where other years, it was in 4 different rooms of the Club... personally I hope they stay with the School Hall in future years.

Christmas in July

I had a lot of fun when I joined Cheryll's Christmas in July.  My partner was Kaye and this is what I received.
(I remembered to photograph it before ripping the paper off)
 Aren't I the lucky one!!!
I remember reading on Kaye's blog about this pillow and thinking it was sooo cute!... then I find out it is mine...ALL MINE!!  I absolutely LUV it...blue is my favourite colour!
Then another blue item... an ornament to hang on my tree.
and lasttly this gorgeous table mat.
ALL my items have been hand cross stitched by Kaye and
 I LOVE LUV LOVE them!

Thank you to Kaye for the lovely gifts and thank you to Cheryll for hosting the swap.

I'm off to day two of Quiltarama, (last day) where I have my stall.

Not happy Jan!

NOT HAPPY JAN!  (Australian's know this saying!)

After spending a lot of money on the wool and many many many many many (got the idea?) hours knitting it (it sat at my lounge chair for over a year waiting for me to "pick up the stitches" on the already knitted fronts to knit the lacy bits (I LOATHE picking up stitches!)... I eventually finished it last night..only to find that it is to small for my buxom body...SOB!!

...Mum on the other hand is over the moon, as she is now the proud owner of it.
